Want to ask specific pulse questions to new hires? Administrators can change the text of the Onboard pulses to get the feedback you need to set new hires up for success. Here's what you need to know.
(i) You must have Admin permissions in Onboard in order to customize Onboard pulse questions.
Conditions to edit pulses
In order to promote consistency and to allow you to track change over time, TINYpulse lets administrators update the Onboard pulse questions only before they're sent to your first new hire. Meaning, you cannot edit pulses yourself in TINYpulse after the first survey has gone out.
What this means for you is that you and the rest of the admin team should think carefully about which four questions will get the best feedback from your new hires and enter them in TINYpulse before inviting new hires.
Do you want to learn more about how new hires feel about the training they received? What about their perception of their own job proficiency? Here are some sample questions to get you thinking:
- How would you rate the training you received during your first two/four/twelve weeks of employment?
- How integrated do you feel in the company's culture?
- How productive do you feel in your role?
Once you've decided which questions you want to ask new hires, Onboard pulses can be edited from two places; the Onboard dashboard or the Invite People page in Settings.
From the Onboard dashboard, click Edit beside any of the questions to open the editor.
From Settings, click Invite People, then Click here to view and edit Onboard pulses now.
The editor will open and you can change the question text, edit the low and high score labels for the scale questions, and see a preview of what your employees will see once the pulse is delivered. Click Confirm to save and close.
If you already have employees receiving Onboard pulses and you've decided that you want to update a question, you won't be able to make the change from the dashboard. Please reach out to your customer success manager, send us a message using the chat function on the Engage dashboard, or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll work with you to have them adjusted.
Fixed question type
While administrators can change the text of the Onboard questions, the question type cannot be changed at this point in time. The week 1 question will remain open text, and weeks 2, 4, and 12 will also remain as scale questions with a mandatory qualitative feedback field. We're sorry for the inconvenience and look forward to enhancing the functionality in the future for you.
